PAXARO Infra Design specializes in the design and engineering of various infrastructural objects, including bridges, tunnels, viaducts, quay walls, noise barriers, and more.

Project Oosterweel

For the contractor consortium TM ROCO. The Oosterweel project is the largest infrastructure project in the Benelux. It consists of several sub-projects. The biggest transformation will take place in the northern part of Antwerp. The current Antwerp Ring Road will disappear; the Merksem Viaduct will be demolished to make way for a lowered Ring Road that is partially covered. As a result, the Ring Road will disappear from view, and new parks will be created in the freed-up space to provide more greenery. PAXARO, commissioned by the contractor consortium TM ROCO, is responsible for designing the reinforcement of various concrete structures.

A15 Maasvlakte-Vaanplein

For the contractor consortium A-Lanes. This project involves upgrading a 37 km section of the A15 motorway between the Maasvlakte and the Vaanplein to motorway standards, the construction of a new Botlek Bridge for road traffic and the port railway line, the reconstruction of the Botlek and Thomassen Tunnels, the reconstruction of 36 viaducts, the construction of twelve new engineering structures, a dynamic traffic management system along the entire route, and the maintenance of existing and new roads and structures until 2035. PAXARO contributed to the engineering of viaducts and bridges, systems engineering, and document management.

De Nieuwe Afsluitdijk

Between Julianaplein and Europaweg, the southern ring road has been constructed in a lowered position, making it disappear from view. This lowered section opened to traffic in 2024. For contractor Herepoort, PAXARO carried out the final design (UO) of the concrete structure of the lowered section, including structural calculations, concrete and reinforcement design, and all related drawings.

Zuidas | Amsterdam

For the contractor consortium ZuidPlus. The A10 Zuid/Zuidasdok project improves accessibility to Amsterdam and the northern Randstad by widening the A10 Zuid motorway and partially tunnelling it near the Zuidas district. The project also includes the reconstruction of the De Nieuwe Meer and Amstel junctions, as well as the renovation and expansion of the NS and metro station. Since 2021, PAXARO has been involved in the engineering of the rail-bearing structures.

Zeesluis IJmuiden

For the contractor consortium OpenIJ. After 100 years, the Noordersluis in IJmuiden was due for replacement. A new, larger sea lock has been constructed to improve access to the Port of Amsterdam and stimulate the regional economy by providing tide-independent access for the ever-growing sea vessels. The new sea lock is 70 metres wide, 500 metres long, and 18 metres deep, and became operational in 2022. PAXARO contributed to this project by providing consultancy and engineering services for the sinking of the lock heads.

Theemswegtracé| Rotterdam

In the Europoort area, the Theemsweg route is being constructed on behalf of the Port of Rotterdam Authority. The Theemsweg route is approximately 4 kilometres long and provides a solution to the capacity bottleneck at the Caland Bridge near Rozenburg.

The new route runs over an elevated railway viaduct. The track includes two arch bridges and connects to the existing railway near the A15 motorway. By rerouting the railway line, the increasing rail traffic no longer interferes with shipping traffic, which will improve overall traffic flow.

PAXARO has made several contributions to this project, including the detailed engineering of the concrete works for a new wind barrier, as well as various contributions to the modelling of the railway viaduct and arch bridges.

Botlekburg| Rotterdam

In Rotterdam Europoort, the A15 motorway has been reconstructed in recent years. The final component of this project is the completion of the Botlek Bridge. On behalf of the construction consortium A-Lanes, PAXARO is contributing to the design of the railway connection over the bridge.

Noordelijke Randweg Voorhout

For the municipality of Teylingen. Preparing the final design for a road bridge and a bicycle underpass.

N213 Westland

For the contractor consortium VoGel (van Gelder/VOBI), PAXARO created the final design of the bicycle underpass beneath the roundabout on Provincial Road N213.

Wind barrier Het Theemswegtracé

For the construction of the Theemsweg route (the new freight railway line in the Europoort area), a large concrete wind barrier along the Neckarhaven was in the way.

This was demolished and replaced by a new wind barrier.

PAXARO carried out the engineering of the new wind barrier on behalf of the Port of Rotterdam Authority.

Fly-over voor Port of Amsterdam

For the Port of Amsterdam, PAXARO conducted a feasibility study for improving the flow of freight traffic from Ruijgoordweg in Amsterdam’s Western Port Area. One of the options is a flyover over the Westpoortweg. A visualization of the design has been created.
